In this day and age of technology, learning how to design appealing websites has been crucial. I have had the chance to redesign a few websites for local organizations and businesses. Recently, I led up a complete redesign and update of the websites for Engage Management (a property management company), Salter Construction (the related construction company), and the apartment communities managed by this company. Something I have learned during my time of redesigning is that you are constantly updating, constantly making the website better as more information is given, and there is always room for something to be improved upon.
In this day, it is nearly impossible to run a business without a reliable social media presence. Much of today's communication is held via social media, making it one of a company's most valuable tools. Having a good idea of what appeals to your audience and how to connect with them on social media is a skill I've been continuing to learn and improve upon. I've held positions for both businesses and organizations to run their social media accounts in Facebook, Instagram, and even Twitter. Something I studied while in college but have learned more on the job is knowing what content to post where and to what audience. As a graphic designer, I also learned to create content best able to engage the specific organization or business with its unique audience.
